Imagine a King

Karah, Hannah and Lauren were in a Christmas play last weekend and it was so sweet.
This was one of the final scenes - Ansley (girl with mic in hand) sang the most beautiful
song called Imagine a King. I wish the video would work - she has a beautiful voice.
They all look so sweet here. Then our Pastor asked them which song they wanted to do again for us and the mood changed...

Ashley's winter formal

Ashley went to her first dance at school.
She looked so pretty.
Her and Dominic went together but not as a date.
They both took off with their own friends when they
got there. Ashley had so much fun, she said she wished
they had a dance every weekend.
It kind of reminds me of skating every Friday night.
That's what we did when I was a teen and we had so much
fun. To be a teen again. No thank you!

Father/son time

Phillip and his dad just hangin' out.
If I had to guess what they were talking
about, I would say music. Phillip is like
a walking encyclopedia when it comes to
bands and music. He is so talented when it comes
to writing music and recording it. Praise the Lord!
Hey, did anyone notice Phil's shirt? Does that say
Rochester, New York? Yup!

Beautiful Boopers!

Ain't she purty?

Lauren, Lauren, Lauren

This is Lauren getting on the bus on the first day of school.
You are probably wondering why I am putting it on the blog now.
Well, today I had to bring her jacket to school because she didn't wear
it and I didn't want her to go outside without it. What should have
been a quick drop off, turned into a long comfort session followed by
Lauren coming home with me. This was the second time I came into
school and the second time that Lauren cried, but today she wouldn't
stop and the whole cafeteria was staring at us wondering what I did
to her. I came to the conclusion that I will probably not be able to go
to school for her Christmas performance on December 19th without
disguising myself or something. She will definitely ruin the show if she sees me.
So, this picture will be the only evidence that Lauren goes to school.
Pretty sad, huh? I'm going to pray that Lauren gets over this quickly
so that I can volunteer and go to the classroom parties, etc.

Elgin's catfish stomps ugliest car

This was named ugliest car. The picture does not do it justice. It was made out of so many
miscellaneous items. Wish you could see it in person. It was definitely ugly.

Elgin's Catfish Stomp

First of all, No, we did not stomp on catfish.
We went to Elgin's annual Catfish Stomp today.
Phil insisted on driving down to the local
mechanics shop where they were serving
Larry Nelson's World Famous Catfish stew.
Now you have to understand that you can
only get this special South Carolina treat
once a year. And today was the day!
MMM-MMM! Phil was so excited. Phil,
Dom and Dawn were the brave ones. We all walk up to purchase the
stew. You have to imagine - the mechanics are working on cars to the
right and to the left is the stew brewing. I have never seen things like
this except for down south. Just like the guys sitting in the back or
their pickup trucks selling boiled peanuts, fresh shrimp and fireworks.
Well, back to the purchase of the stew. They all got the biggest container
you could get. Not a little bowl, or a medium size container but a LARGE.
Not knowing if they even like it get. Wow, maybe they were thinking they
could heat up the leftovers and enjoy it later and tomorrow. This picture
is Phil and Dom getting a picture in front of the sign.
The next picture describes just how much Phil liked the famous stew.

I don't think he will be getting catfish stew EVER again!
I forgot to mention that it was so bad that he made us
pull over and dump it out so we wouldn't have to
dispose of it at our house.
